Kevin Lauer, BSc, PFP®

With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Kevin is a dedicated Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) specializing in providing comprehensive, personalized investment guidance. His skills span retirement, investment, risk management, and estate planning, enabling him to offer tailored advice that addresses the unique needs and goals of individuals and families.

Kevin grew up in the beautiful Kootenays and later moved to Edmonton to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at the University of Alberta. After completing his studies, he spent several years working in the backcountry of the Canadian Rockies, where he could combine his love of nature with his passion for travel. It was during this time that he met his wife, and the couple eventually settled in Nelson, BC, where they lived for several years. Seeking to be closer to family, they relocated to Vancouver Island in 2017 and have since made Parksville their home, where they are excited to put down roots.

Kevin’s background in mathematics has given him a natural affinity for numbers, and he approaches financial planning with a clear, methodical mindset. He likens the process to solving a jigsaw puzzle—while the individual pieces may seem disconnected, they come together to form a comprehensive and meaningful picture. This allows Kevin to help clients navigate complex financial decisions with confidence and clarity.

As an associate advisor, Kevin is deeply committed to fostering long-term relationships built on trust and open communication. His client-first approach ensures that each strategy is uniquely tailored to help clients achieve their financial goals and secure a stable future.

Outside of his professional life, Kevin is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping with his wife and their dachshund-cross rescue. His love of nature mirrors his philosophy of balance and thoughtful decision-making, both in life and in financial planning.
